StartupStarter, under the leadership of co-founder and COO Lorel Scott, made history at LA Tech Week 2024 by organizing a landmark event that turned Santa Monica’s Ocean Avenue into a vibrant hub of innovation. This first-of-its-kind event, the Santa Monica Innovation Hub Technology Street Fair, attracted a diverse group of tech enthusiasts, startups, and industry leaders, setting a new standard for the annual festival.
Lorel Scott’s vision to create an inclusive, dynamic space for both established tech companies and emerging talent was realized through an event that fused business with entertainment. The street fair featured cutting-edge tech showcases, VR and AR activations, and ample opportunities for networking. One of the standout features of the event was its focus on local youth, offering free entry for student groups and highlighting robotics programs, positioning Santa Monica as a future-forward tech epicenter.
Scott was also accompanied by his mother who flew in from Georgia and his cousin, Diviniti, who also handled registration and managed event communications through her media company, Big Indy Presents. Her expertise ensured smooth coordination and effective promotion, further elevating the event’s impact.
Supported by the City of Santa Monica via partnership with Economic Development Manager Jennifer Taylor, the event also embraced the local culture, offering food trucks, live music, and even a beer garden. Scott’s leadership was instrumental in blending innovation with community spirit, making the event a memorable highlight of LA Tech Week and cementing StartupStarter’s role as a key player in the Silicon Beach tech scene.
This event not only marked a major milestone for StartupStarter but also showcased Scott’s commitment to driving both technological innovation and cultural inclusivity in the tech industry.
